CHICAGO (April 2015) — Chicago?s original steakhouse Gene & Georgetti announced earlier this year plans to open a second restaurant in Rosemont after 74 years in business.
Proprietors Tony, Marion & Michelle Durpetti, along with Managing Partner Richard Ciota are pleased to announce the appointment of Luis Quiroz as Executive Chef of the new Gene & Georgetti restaurant and its adjacent private events venue, The Estate by Gene & Georgetti, both opening in June 28th, 2015 at 9421 W. Higgins Rd., Rosemont, Illinois, 60018.
Luis Quiroz, a native of Mexico City, has a degree in Culinary Arts from The Cooking & Hospitality Institute. Over his 20-year career Quiroz has been influenced by chefs Tony Priolo and Nadia Tilkian, and he?s spent the last nine years serving as Executive Chef for Barrington Country Bistro, specializing in French cuisine. Chef Quiroz philosophy is that great service and fine food go hand in hand, and he goes the extra mile to ensure a seamless dining experience from kitchen to dining room.

The Estate by Gene & Georgetti
The Estate by Gene & Georgetti will be an elegantly designed private events and wedding venue offering menus that can be customized for any occasion. Exclusive to The Estate, is the Gene & Georgetti Signature Selections of famous classics like appetizers of Baked Clams, Fried Ravioli, Shrimp Cocktail; entrees of Lamb Chops, New York Strip, Prime Rib, Chicken alla Joe, and Garbage Salad; sides including Creamed Spinach, Sauteed Peppers, Mushrooms, Lyonnaise Potatoes; and desserts including Tuxedo Mousse Cake, Carrot Cake, Tiramisu and Spumoni.
New menu items will use locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients, while elevating traditional wedding fare with a customizable, evolving menu catered to the tastes of each client.
The 5,000 square foot Grand Ballroom (the entire property is 23,000 square feet total) can seat 300 (with a dance floor), or 600 for standing receptions.? Amenities will include a bridal suite, floor length linens, chivalry chairs, wedding cake and coffee service, complimentary valet and/or self-park.
Gene & Georgetti restaurant?
The 260 person capacity restaurant in Rosemont- open for lunch and dinner Mondays through Saturdays, and open for dinner on Sundays- will be inspired by Gene & Georgetti?s classic atmosphere.? Along with the menu and world-class wine list, it will keep with the tradition, consistency, and reputation for quality that the Gene & Georgetti name is known for.
Three private dining rooms hold groups from 10 ? 125 people. The Bar at Gene & Georgetti Rosemont features lounge and traditional seating, including an outdoor patio, an will feature a lighter fare menu including Burger Sliders and Prime Rib Sliders, and small plates of Gene & Georgetti classics.
About Gene & Georgetti Rosemont
This marks the first expansion for the family owned and operated business since opening in River North (500 N. Franklin) in 1941. The team behind the expansion includes proprietors Marion and Tony Durpetti, and Managing Partner Richard Ciota, who also serves as general manager and oversee operations of both locations. Tony and Marion?s daughter, Michelle Durpetti brings her expertise of private, corporate and wedding planning and production to her role as marketing and special events manager. Both Ciota and Durpetti are proud to be the third generation, inspired by founder Gene Michelotti; great uncle to Ciota and grandfather to Durpetti.
