Christkindlmarket is an open-air market that mimics similar seasonal tradition in Nuremberg, Germany. The festive market is full of one-of-a-kind masterpieces ranging from nutcrackers, cuckoo clocks, beer steins and glass ornaments. Is that your stomach we hear growling? Don’t fret! Christkindlmarke vendors have potato pancakes, hot pretzels, schnitzel, döner and chocolate-covered treats to satisfy your cravings at any moment! Christkindlmarke is a family-friendly event, so bring out the whole crew and enjoy the Christkindlmarke festivities!

{ Zoolights } 

Bundle up your gang and head out to the Lincoln Park Zoo to admire the array of cheerfully lit holiday lights! With over 2.5 million LED bulbs strung throughout the zoo, jaws will be sure to drop in awe of their beauty. The majority of the zoo’s animals will be inside, so the public is free to walk about the zoo and snap pictures of the display and participate in a variety of activities that will be held during the holiday season. Regulars such as Santa, ice sculpture carvers, and carolers will make their appearances during the festivities. However, mark you calendar for specific events such as, a holiday market on December 3rd, an adult’s only evening on December 5th, A Charlie Brown Christmas live show on December 15, and lastly, a Zoo Year’s Celebration on New Year’s Eve!

{ BrewLights } 

What’s better than viewing the holiday lights at the Lincoln Park Zoo? Viewing the lights while sipping an ice cold beer in your mitten covered hands. This ticketed event allows onlookers to taste test craft and seasonal beers on tap from Begyle, Maplewood, Ravinia, Delirium, Breckenridge and other great breweries while touring the amazing holiday lights that the zoo puts up every year. All event proceeds go toward the Auxiliary Board’s pledge in support of Lincoln Park Zoo’s The Pride of Chicago capital campaign.

We all know and love The Bean, but here is the cherry on top of this famous tourist stop- during the holiday months, you can stop by, snap a picture, and belt your favorite holiday carols. These annual concerts and sing-alongs gather locals and tourists alike, to share in the love for holiday jams. Caroling will be lead by Sound Good! Choir and this is a family-friendly event! So bring the littles out to join in on the holiday cheer that will bring a smile to everyone’s face.
